The BLÄSERENSEMBLE SABINE MEYER owes its existence to the Lugnez Festival of Wind Music, held in Switzerland. Every summer for ten years, Sabine Meyer has met with a select circle of wind soloists in the town of Rumein in the Lugnez Valley in Graubünden Canton. These soloists (and friends) have retained their delight in music making at a time when classical music has become heavily commercialised. The group, like Sabine Meyer herself, believes that peaceful surroundings and plenty of time are necessary for an interpretation to really develop and mature.
